George's Story
After high school served 3 years in the Army. Got out in 1987. Went to DeVry in KC, MO where I got my B.S. Degree in Telecommunications Management. Graduated in 1990. Went to work for Teleport Communications in New York at the World Trade Center from 1990 to 1992 as an Outside Plant Engineer. In 1992 trasfered to Staten Island where I was a Provisioning Engineer until 1994. Then transferred to Dallas, TX to become a Network Engineer with Teleport Communications until 1997. Eventually Teleport Communications was bought out by AT&T. Left Teleport in 1997 to work for Metro Acess as a Facilities Manager. Then worked for Brooks Fiber and Worldcom as a Facilities Manager. n on 9-11 the Industry went belly up and I have been a victim ever since trying to get back into my field. Lost alot of friends in the twin towers. Was blessed I was not there during the first bombing and the collapse of the WTC.. These days I'm enjoying life on my 2 acres out in Clifton Forge, VA. Love the country living. But I do miss Texas very much. Loved the atmosphere, the people, the food and entertainment.
5/15/2023 Thought it was time for an update. Been working for Segra as a Network Planner for the last 8 years. Been back to Jersey a few times to visit family. Can't believe its been 15 years living in VA. Always open to new adventures and challenges.
